We care for our employees so that this care reflects in the population we serve. **Key Responsibilities:** * Request authorization from health insurance providers for scheduled appointments and/or services rendered, such as: hospitalization, procedures, materials, medications, and exams; * Resolve pending authorizations after patient discharge—or partial discharge—based on the rules of the health insurance providers with the highest clinical relevance and the agreed-upon financial volume between parties; * Record in the operational system’s database all events related to authorization requests, including document submission and receipt, contacts made, authorizations granted, pending items, and/or coverage denials; * Follow the Audit Schedule to ensure authorization submissions are sent to the Billing Department at least 24 (twenty-four) hours before the joint audit date; * Resolve pending authorizations resulting from financial department rejections (glosas); * Submit responsibility forms to inpatient units (nursing stations) to obtain the signature of the responsible party in cases where health plan authorization for surgical procedures is missing; * Comply with and respect company-established policies and regulations, as well as those set forth by certification bodies adopted by this institution. **Required Qualifications:** * Completed high school education; * Prior experience requesting procedures and exams via health insurance provider portals is required; * Familiarity with the WPD system will be considered an advantage; * Familiarity with the SisAmil portal will be considered an advantage; * Knowledge of OPME procedures will be considered an advantage; * Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; * Availability to work Monday through Friday.
