Collaborative environment and growth opportunities Serve as a specialized technical support professional in Materials Engineering for automotive components and subsystems, ensuring appropriate material selection, performance validation, regulatory compliance, and durability of materials applied in vehicles across South America. **Responsibilities and Duties** * **Technical Expertise:** Develop in-depth knowledge of specific materials (Fluids, Resins, Steels, Elastomers, Adhesives, and Textiles). * **Process Analysis:** Understand manufacturing processes (Stamping, Injection Molding) and secondary operations (Painting, Electroplating, Bonding). * **Compatibility and Performance:** Evaluate compatibility between base materials and fluids (fuel, coolant, greases, engine oil, brake fluid) as well as the vehicle's operational environment. * **Approval and Sign\-off:** Manage the material approval process within the system (Material Sign\-off) and support DV/PV (Design/Production Verification) testing. * **Data Management:** Populate and maintain technical databases. * **Multifunctional Interface:** Provide technical support to Procurement, Cost Reduction, Programs, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, focusing on feasibility of new materials, adherence to deadlines, and failure analysis **Requirements and Qualifications** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry * **Languages:** Fluent English and Intermediate Spanish * **Mobility:** Willingness to travel as required by programs (technical visits to suppliers, laboratories, and production plants). * **Technical Knowledge:** * Experience in failure analysis of materials and surface finishes. * Knowledge of material technical specifications (e.g., FORD, SAE, ASTM, Euro Standards). * **Quality Standards Knowledge:** Solid understanding of **ISO/IEC 17025** (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) and **IATF 16949** (Automotive quality management systems). * Familiarity with corrosion and galvanic protection processes. * Familiarity with fastener-related processes. * Knowledge of chemical and environmental substance regulations (IMDS). **Additional Information** **Transportation Allowance** **Meal Voucher (ECX Card)** **Medical and Dental Plan (Unimed Insurance – Nationwide Coverage)** **Life Insurance** **Wellhub (Gympass)** **On Happy – Exclusive discounts on travel and leisure** **Mediquo – Online medical consultations with physicians, nutritionists, psychologists, and veterinarians** **Annual Bonus** At Global Group, engineering is about people and impact.
