As **Chief Engineer**, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the tugboat's engine room—including all equipment—seeking solutions, acting preventively, and ensuring tugboats remain in optimal, safe, and operation-ready condition. **Responsibilities and Duties** **Your day-to-day in this role:** * Operate in the tugboat's engine room, performing inspections and preventive and corrective maintenance on all vessel equipment per maintenance team guidance. * Proactively acquire knowledge of operation and maintenance for all onboard systems and components through reading and understanding manuals, plans, and procedures. * Identify, organize, preserve, and control all tools, spare parts, and onboard inventory, keeping them in usable condition. * Plus other responsibilities inherent to this position. **Requirements and Qualifications** **What you need to apply:** * Prior experience as **Chief Engineer** aboard **medium- or large-sized vessels**. * Education: Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electromechanics, Automation, etc. * Valid Certificate of Maritime Professional Competence (CIR) and up-to-date certifications (Training, TBS/1, and EBCP). * NR 35 \- Working at Heights **Desirable:** * Officers of the Merchant Navy; Bachelor's degree in exact sciences **Additional Information** Work Location: **Ilhéus \| BA** We offer an attractive salary and benefits package!
