Safety, Organization, and Performance Indicators **Responsibilities of a Body Shop Supervisor** -------------------------------------------- The **Body Shop Supervisor** is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, quality, and productivity of repair activities in the workshop, guaranteeing that services are performed according to technical standards, established deadlines, and safety regulations. ### **Main Responsibilities** ### **1\. Operational Management** * Coordinate and assign tasks among body technicians, painters, and assistants. * Monitor progress of bodywork and painting services, ensuring adherence to deadlines. * Assess repair complexity and assign appropriate personnel to each job. * Ensure that disassembly, repair, reassembly, and finishing processes comply with manufacturer and company standards. ### **2\. Quality Control** * Conduct inspections during and after repair execution. * Verify alignment, adjustments, welds, finishes, and preparation for painting. * Guarantee vehicles are delivered meeting expected quality and technical criteria. * Identify defects, rework, and propose solutions for continuous improvement. ### **3\. Internal and External Customer Service** * Align information with the Estimating Department, Service Advisors, and insurance companies. * Provide technical feedback regarding repair feasibility, need for parts, or outsourced services. * Support clarification of technical questions for customers and internal teams, when necessary. ### **4\. People Management** * Monitor team members’ performance, productivity, and conduct. * Guide, train, and develop staff on sound technical and organizational practices. * Manage attendance, shift schedules, and task distribution. * Contribute to a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment. ### **5\. Materials and Equipment Management** * Control and request materials, tools, and consumables required for repairs. * Ensure proper use, maintenance, and functionality of department equipment. * Monitor inventory levels and consumption of bodywork and painting materials. ### **6\. Workshop Safety and Organization** * Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations and proper use of PPE. * Guarantee organization of work bays, cleanliness of work areas, and correct disposal of waste. * Prevent operational risks and implement corrective measures when necessary. ### **7\. Performance Indicators and Reporting** * Monitor indicators such as productivity, rework rate, repair time, and efficiency. * Report results to the workshop manager or post-sales manager. * Propose improvements to reduce costs, optimize processes, and enhance quality. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree Driver’s License: Class B
