**Responsibilities and Duties**
As an **Automation Engineer**, you will:
* Execute and lead automation projects;
* Prepare technical specifications for equipment and instruments used in automation system projects, including logic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, loop diagrams, functional diagrams, descriptive memoranda, input/output lists for control systems, automation system architecture, P\&I flowcharts, instrument lists, and instrument data sheets;
* Develop application software; perform platform testing, commissioning, field testing, startup, assisted operation, and training.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
Required Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Desirable Knowledge:
* Industrial programming languages (PLC – Programmable Logic Controllers, DCS – Distributed Control Systems, SCADA systems, Expert Systems);
* Basic knowledge of industrial plant operations and interlocks, and industrial processes;
* Knowledge of electrical equipment;
* Knowledge of industrial process measurement and control instruments;
* Knowledge of control system hardware (PLC, DCS, Remote Data Acquisition Units, Power Supplies, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Electrical Panels);
* Knowledge of advanced programming languages;
* Knowledge of computer networks and operating systems;
* Knowledge of industrial field communication networks for equipment and instruments (Modbus, Profibus DP, Profibus PA, DeviceNet, Ethernet, ControlNet, DNP3, IEC103, IEC104, RS\-485, RS\-232, and others);
* Knowledge of fiber-optic networks and related accessories;
* Basic database manipulation skills;
* Familiarity with computer hardware;
* Familiarity with motor starters and drives (Soft Starters, Variable Frequency Drives), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), substations, and electrical controls;
* Knowledge of NR\-10 (Brazilian Electrical Safety Regulation);
* Registration with CREA (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy).
