Provide technical services for prevention, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment, working on mechanical, hydraulic, engine, and powertrain systems of machinery; performing repairs, assembly and disassembly of components, fault diagnostics, and preventive inspections based on technical manuals, drawings, sketches, illustrations, and specifications, using hand tools, measuring instruments, and specialized tools. Assist in and perform internal and external services on Caterpillar equipment and components, selecting appropriate materials and tools, operating instruments such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, and levels, and following defined work procedures. At entry levels, performs low-complexity tasks requiring guidance during certain phases of work. As proficiency increases, the professional operates more autonomously on medium- and high-complexity corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, assuming greater responsibility for diagnostics, critical repairs, and technical decision-making.
