The Pharmacy Assistant is the professional responsible for assisting in patient care and organizing medications by department, restocking medications and supplies, interpreting medical prescriptions, and performing specific tasks related to development, production, compounding, dispensing, control, storage, distribution, and transportation of pharmaceutical products—including medications, special foods, cosmetics, immunobiologicals, domestic sanitizers, and related supplies. Performs support services for the Pharmacy Department, such as verification, sorting, and dispensing of supplies and medications. Is a professional who works in compliance with technical and biosafety standards and procedures. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Understand the set of activities aimed at separating medications and products according to prescriptions or medical orders under the supervision of a pharmacist—including receiving, verifying, organizing, and delivering medications and related products; delivering medications daily and related products to interaction units; managing inventory, sorting requisitions and prescriptions; updating medication entries and exits via microcomputers; complying with and ensuring compliance with the Regulation, Bylaws, Instructions, Orders, and Service Routines of the healthcare facility; * Provide courteous and efficient service, suggesting procedural improvements when current practices are inconsistent with required quality assurance and institutional service standards; * Perform simple tasks in pharmacies, including storing and handling products; * Verify inventory, checking batch numbers and expiration dates; * Label medications, products, and other pharmaceutical preparations; * Store products to facilitate handling and control; * Stock shelves with products to ensure prompt and continuous service; * Clean bottles and other instruments, sterilizing them before and after handling to ensure product purity and prevent substance mixing; * Perform other tasks of similar nature and complexity associated with the organizational environment; * Store, package, control, and distribute medications and related items appropriately; * Divide solid and liquid dosage forms for oral use; * Sort medications and related products according to medical prescriptions; * Organize patient boxes with their respective medications; * Examine material and medication conditions: expiration date and physical state; * Organize orders according to prescriptions; * Capture and generate labels for medications to be compounded in sterile and non-sterile pharmacy laboratories, observing batch numbers and expiration dates; * Compound intravenous and chemotherapy medications; * Seal intravenous medications; * Routine environmental and refrigerator temperature monitoring; * Routine counting of medications governed by Ordinance No. 344/1998; * Assemble, replenish, and return kits according to specific procedures; * Verify and close accounts; **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education (mandatory); * Technical Pharmacy course—currently enrolled or completed (desirable); * Basic computer skills; **Additional Information** **BENEFITS** Internal Employee Health Assistance Program; Meal Voucher; Birthday Day Off; Discounts at Partner Companies.
