Responsibilities and Duties
Analyze and manage legal proceedings, with support from other attorneys, to execute procedures under one’s responsibility;
Perform internal routines—including deadline scheduling, hiring correspondents, and filing submissions—to prevent missed deadlines;
Attend less complex hearings, ensuring adequate understanding to contribute positively during such hearings;
Prepare calendars for deadlines and hearings according to established standards and routines within the department, to meet procedural demands;
**Perform procedural tasks such as:** drafting legal documents, waiving appeals, requesting payments, and recording hearing minutes, to meet procedural demands;
Attend scheduled hearings, following the weekly calendar forwarded to the NJ, to fulfill the judicially assigned hearing schedule;
Guide interns in their duties when necessary, contributing to their professional development without negatively impacting ongoing activities;
Conduct filings and attend hearings before judicial authorities to safeguard clients’ interests;
Monitor official publications and deadline progress via electronic systems to ensure timely procedural compliance;
Draft and review procedural documents and legal opinions through precise writing, to advance proceedings with quality;
Analyze cases through careful reading and thorough study to identify key and critical points;
Carry out duties in accordance with the conduct and ethical standards mandated by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and institutional policies of the firm.
**Requirements:**
Bachelor’s degree in Law, registered with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB);
Computer literacy (word processors; case law research tools; navigation and familiarity with the operational features of various court websites);
Prior experience in legal practice or advisory roles is desirable.
