Job Summary: A metalworker/welder fabricates, assembles, and repairs metal structures by interpreting technical drawings, cutting, bending, and welding materials—ensuring safety and quality. Knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings **Job Description:** ---------------------- A metalworker/welder fabricates, assembles, and repairs metal structures (e.g., gates, grilles, window/door frames) using iron, steel, and aluminum. They interpret technical drawings, cut, bend, drill, and weld materials (MIG/SMAW), perform finishing, painting, and installation—all while complying with safety and quality standards. This is a technical role combining metal fabrication and joining. Key Responsibilities and Functions: Fabrication and Assembly: Construct metal structures per project specifications—including gates, handrails, window/door frames, and industrial structures. Cutting and Bending: Use saws, grinders, and bending machines to adjust metal sheets and profiles. Welding: Perform MIG and/or SMAW welding to join components, ensuring strength and finish quality. Project Reading: Interpret technical drawings and sketches for precise cutting and assembly. Finishing: Grind, level, straighten, and clean welded parts; apply anti-corrosion treatments. Installation: Assemble and secure structures at their final location. Safety (PPE/Engineering Controls): Wear welding helmets, gloves, and other protective equipment, adhering to safety regulations. Common Requirements: Proven experience in metalworking and/or welding. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Skill in operating hand and power tools (grinders, drills, welding machines).
