Job Summary:
Professional responsible for restoring wooden items, performing tasks ranging from evaluation and disassembly to structural repairs, treatments, aesthetic recovery, and final finishing—with emphasis on historical conservation.

1\. Component Evaluation
Identify wood type, age, and manufacturing technique
Diagnose damage (cracks, termites, moisture, wear)
Determine the appropriate restoration method
2\. Controlled Disassembly
Disassemble furniture without causing additional damage
Catalog original parts and hardware for faithful reassembly
3\. Structural Repairs
Replace compromised wooden sections
Reinforce joints (dowels, tenons, gluing)
Correct warping
4\. Pest Treatment
Combat termite and other insect infestations
Apply preservative products
5\. Aesthetic Recovery
Remove old varnishes and paints using appropriate techniques
Sand and level surfaces
Apply finishes compatible with the original item (wax, shellac, varnish)
6\. Detail Restoration
Recreate carvings, moldings, and ornaments
Perform marquetry and inlay work when necessary
7\. Historical Conservation (when applicable)
Preserve maximum originality
Avoid interventions that alter the item’s character
8\. Final Assembly and Finishing
Reassemble all restored components
Ensure stability, functionality, and aesthetics
