




Job Summary: A crane operator operates and evaluates the performance of cargo handling equipment, ensuring safety and optimal condition of such equipment. Key Highlights: 1. Work in accordance with safety and quality standards **Description:** Operate crane-type cargo handling and/or lifting equipment, performing loading and unloading operations or yard operations in response to specific or scheduled work requests. Operate lifting machinery and equipment by adjusting controls and activating machine movements. Evaluate operating conditions of machinery and equipment by interpreting instrument panels, verifying power supply sources, and testing activation controls. Prepare the area for equipment operation and transport personnel and materials using lifting machinery and equipment. Work in compliance with safety, hygiene, quality, and environmental protection standards. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure the equipment remains in good condition regarding maintenance and proper usage. Prepare a checklist to identify any damage to the equipment and report it to the supervisor. Verify that the equipment is properly isolated within its operational radius to prevent collisions with other equipment. Check the equipment’s fuel or power supply needs and inform the supervisor accordingly. Verify the lifting capacity of each piece of equipment and ensure operations are conducted according to load specifications. Lift cargo from ships using cranes and position them appropriately in the yard or on ships for storage and subsequent loading or unloading. Occasionally remove cargo from the yard to place it on ship decks using cranes, then load it onto trailers for transport to the ship’s side and subsequent reloading. Execute routine material transportation tasks required for warehouse operations using cranes to optimize process time. Maintain physical organization of cargo areas by allocating cargo space in the yard and performing appropriate storage. Position materials in designated locations using crane operations, removing scattered loads to facilitate vehicle and equipment traffic. Perform related tasks as assigned by immediate supervision. Participate daily in DDS (Daily Safety Meeting). Correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). It is the operator’s responsibility to maintain equipment functionality, including performing complementary maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and reporting observed defects or malfunctions for correction.
