




Job Summary: Responsible for the operation, monitoring, and control of sanitation systems, ensuring continuity and compliance with environmental regulations. Key Highlights: 1. Identify anomalies and support operational recovery during incidents Responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling sewage collection, pumping, and treatment systems during the day shift, ensuring process continuity, operational efficiency, and compliance with environmental and quality standards. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Operate sanitary sewage units and systems (networks, pumping stations, Wastewater Treatment Plants, and associated units), ensuring operational continuity and compliance. * Perform routine operational procedures for equipment startup/shutdown, switching operations, inspections, and process adjustments as per established procedures. * Monitor operational and environmental parameters (e.g., flow rates, levels, BOD/COD where applicable, solids, odors), recording readings and incidents. * Support and monitor cleaning, unclogging, overflow control, and pumping station operations, where applicable. * Support sludge and process residue management, following quality and environmental guidelines. * Support sampling activities and interface with laboratory/quality teams, ensuring adherence to sampling plans and recordkeeping. * Identify anomalies, notify maintenance/automation teams, and support operational recovery during critical incidents. * Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including proper use of PPE and confined space work procedures where applicable. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; technical course in Sanitation, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields is desirable. * Experience operating Wastewater Treatment Plants, pumping stations, sewage networks, or related activities; experience in sanitation/utilities is preferred. * Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pump, blower, and valve operation, and field routines. * Ability to respond to incidents and contingencies (overflows, equipment failures, blockages). * Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and discipline in maintaining operational records. * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or operational recordkeeping systems. * Availability to work rotating shifts/day shifts and on-call duties, where applicable. * Valid Brazilian driver's license (Category B); willingness to travel between operational units. * Willingness to work onsite in Petrolina/PE. **Additional Information** **BENEFITS:** Medical assistance; Dental assistance; Life insurance; Transportation allowance; Meal voucher and/or food allowance; Profit-sharing program (PLR); **VITA Sertão** is the sanitation concessionaire established to drive development in the Sertão region of Pernambuco.
