Your main responsibilities will include: * Providing technical oversight of tailings handling activities conducted by the project’s contracted company; * Monitoring technical aspects related to tailings movement and compaction; * Developing a rainy-season plan for the mine, including sizing operational structures for sediment containment and peak rainfall flow attenuation (sumps), dike cleaning, pumping systems, and operational channels; * Creating field-based solutions for maintaining the geotechnical asset in tailings waste management activities; * Supporting the development of new surface drainage and sediment containment projects, Mine Master Plans, Tailings Management Plans, among others; * Assessing fleet and operator availability before planning activities; * Ensuring compliance with the client’s technical policies and procedures; * Proposing new methodologies and techniques for construction-related projects involving access roads, drainage, tailings disposal, and other geotechnical activities; * Promoting a work environment aligned with the client’s health, safety, and environmental policies. For this position, we expect you to have: * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or related fields; * Preferred: Postgraduate degree in Geotechnics and/or water resources; * Active CREA registration; * Experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and geotechnics projects within the mining sector; * Preferred: Knowledge of or experience with ISO 14001: Environmental Management System (EMS).
