Occupational Health and Safety Technician

* *Support Unit Managers in implementing and complying with occupational health and safety regulations.* * *Recommend and assist in implementing new processes, determining aspects to be observed in preserving and ensuring operational safety.* * *Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and propose corrective and preventive actions.* * *Coordinate and maintain up-to-date Health and Safety performance indicators on the Benchmark Gensuite platform, visual management via PowerBI when applicable.* * *Supervise the use and control of PPE issuance.* * *Focus on risk reduction while ensuring compliance with Regulatory Standards.* * *Develop, update, and standardize Health and Safety procedures, instructions, and forms, ensuring alignment with the company’s global and corporate policies. Implement these policies within the unit's operational context, ensuring proper implementation, communication, and local application, with version control and document management, contributing to the optimization of Processes and MASS department routines.* * *Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies to optimize document generation such as Job Risk Analysis, Preliminary Risk Assessment, and Work Permits (including lockout, tagging, testing; confined space, and others).* * *Enter and update data in the Benchmark Gensuite system, including: incident reporting and investigation, recording safety observations, uploading and managing Health and Safety documents, recording and updating completed trainings, and managing corrective and preventive actions related to Health and Safety events.* * *Assist in preparing for internal and external Health and Safety audits.* * *Manage, organize, and train Internal Accident Prevention Committees – CIPA.* * *Perform periodic inspections of company facilities to identify/correct unsafe working conditions and direct actions accordingly.* * *Support the emergency response team and emergency preparedness and response drills according to plant risk scenarios and other requirements.* * *Contribute to developing a safety culture focused on risk reduction within the unit.* * *Participate in the commissioning and startup processes of new equipment, areas, and processes, providing technical expertise in occupational health and safety.* * *Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety procedures.* * *Recommend improvements in all facilities whenever health and safety opportunities are identified.* * *Carry out safety inspections, field audits, and routine follow-ups in production and administrative areas.* * *Manage and promote Behavioral Programs, including collecting and analyzing recorded observations, properly addressing them, and selecting valid observations for monthly recognition.* * *Analyze, support, participate, propose, and implement adjustments, ensuring the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety programs and policies, considering legal requirements and Tate\&Lyle's global policies.
