Description
FCAMARA is seeking professionals with a **Project Manager** profile to work with a client from our portfolio to lead a strategic initiative for system and data integration at a major Brazilian mining company. The project involves consolidating information from internal departments—each operating its own system—with the goal of creating an integrated view to support governance, executive management, and decision-making.
The professional will be responsible for structuring and executing the project, supporting progressive scope definition, coordinating technical and business stakeholders, and managing schedule, risks, dependencies, communication, and scope changes.
Proven experience in data and system integration projects is essential, along with the ability to operate in environments where scope remains under definition, strong organizational skills, clear communication, flexibility to handle change, and discipline to act as custodian of processes, governance, and approved scope.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
The Project Manager will be responsible for **planning, structuring, coordinating, and controlling project execution**, serving as the focal point among business units, IT, vendors, and other involved stakeholders. This professional must ensure the project progresses in an organized manner—even within a context of evolving scope—maintaining balance between flexibility, governance discipline, risk management, change control, and adherence to the organization’s strategic objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
* Lead project planning, including scope structuring, assumptions, constraints, risks, dependencies, high-level schedule, and governance model.
* Support business and IT areas in progressively defining scope, ensuring clarity on deliverables, priorities, responsibilities, and success criteria.
* Manage data and system integration initiatives, considering diverse information sources, varying levels of technological maturity, and potential requirements for evolution of current solutions.
* Coordinate activities for eliciting, mapping, and understanding current processes across involved departments.
* Facilitate discussions among business units, architecture, data, information security, infrastructure, vendors, and technical teams.
* Ensure alignment between the proposed solution and the needs of involved business units.
* Establish and monitor schedule, delivery plan, project milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and corrective actions.
* Act as custodian of the approved scope, structuring and guiding scope changes, impacts, and replanning as needed.
* Promote clear, objective, and recurring communication with technical, functional, and executive stakeholders.
* Prepare status reports, executive materials, meeting minutes, action plans, and progress presentations.
* Support definition of the future operational model—including data governance, area responsibilities, and processes for sustaining the integrated solution.
* Ensure decisions, scope changes, risks, and dependencies are properly documented and tracked.
* Contribute to identifying opportunities for improvement in existing systems—especially when solution maturity impacts the planned integration.
**Expected Deliverables:**
* Structured project plan.
* High-level and detailed schedule.
* Stakeholder matrix.
* Responsibility assignment matrix (e.g., RACI).
* Risk, issue, assumption, and dependency register.
* Communication plan.
* Periodic status reports.
* Scope change control.
* Decision documentation and meeting minutes.
* Integration roadmap.
* Transition plan to operations or sustainment.
* Support in defining the governance model for the integrated solution.
**Success Criteria for Performance**:
* Progressive clarity of project scope and objectives.
* Recurring alignment among business, IT, and vendors.
* Risks and dependencies identified, communicated, and addressed.
* Scope changes controlled and formalized.
* Schedule and deliverables monitored transparently.
* Objective and reliable executive communication.
* Governance established and respected.
* Decisions documented and traceable.
* Integration conducted with focus on business value.
* Adequate preparation for operations, sustainment, and future evolution of the solution.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
The ideal candidate is a professional capable of operating in a highly complex organizational and technological environment—where scope is still maturing, systems exhibit varying levels of maturity, and involved departments have distinct needs. This individual must balance two fundamental characteristics:
1\. Flexibility to adapt planning as the project evolves;
2\. Firmness to protect scope, governance, decision-making processes, and commitments made.
A consultative, structured, and collaborative approach is expected—along with the ability to organize discussions, translate business needs into actionable plans, and execute the project with clarity, methodology, and discipline.
**Required Experience**:
* Management of medium- to high-complexity corporate IT projects.
* System integration, data integration, information consolidation, or enterprise platform implementation projects.
* Environments with multiple stakeholders—including business units, IT, vendors, and executive leadership.
* Projects with evolving or undefined scope, requiring organization of uncertainty, structured decision-making, and gradual planning maturation.
* Management of schedules, risks, dependencies, communication, and project governance.
* Facilitation of workshops, alignment meetings, decision forums, and executive presentations.
* Vendor management and oversight of technical and functional deliveries.
* Projects involving corporate data, KPIs, integrations, dashboards, or consolidated information views.
**Desired Technical Knowledge**:
* Concepts of system integration, APIs, ETL, data pipelines, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or analytical platforms.
* Awareness of enterprise architecture and integration between legacy systems and modern solutions.
* Knowledge of data governance, data quality, master data standardization, and source-of-information management.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMI/PMBOK, hybrid approaches, or agile frameworks.
* Knowledge of change management, scope control, risk management, and project governance.
* Experience with project management, collaboration, and executive reporting tools.
* Desirable knowledge of mining, engineering, licensing, land management, capital projects, or stakeholder engagement contexts.
* Fluent or advanced English.
**Behavioral Competencies**:
* Organization: ability to structure information, agendas, plans, decisions, risks, and pending items clearly and traceably.
* Communication: ability to interact with technical, functional, and executive audiences—translating complexity into objective messages.
* Flexibility: openness to handling change, uncertainty, and gradual scope evolution.
* Governance discipline: ability to uphold processes, controls, and management rituals even in dynamic environments.
* Systems thinking: ability to understand relationships among processes, systems, data, and business units.
* Collaborative posture: ease in building alignment among departments with differing interests, priorities, and maturity levels.
* Negotiation ability: skill in guiding trade-offs, prioritizations, and decisions involving scope, timeline, cost, and value.
* Proactivity: anticipation of risks, dependencies, and issues before they impact project progress.
* Resilience: ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous, and results-driven environments.
* Ownership mindset: commitment to delivering value, ensuring decision quality, and guaranteeing solution sustainability.
