About the Role: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the Alumar Port in São Luís, Maranhão, you will conduct mechanical engineering studies, provide technical support for operations and maintenance, analyze and resolve issues to maximize production while maintaining technical integrity and contributing to achievement of company goals. You will supervise engineering projects to achieve necessary improvements in the production process within quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous equipment performance, including rapid resolution of process equipment unavailability and identification of issues requiring further evaluation and support from reliability engineering resources. Other key responsibilities include: * Provide necessary engineering support to implement Reliability Excellence principles to optimize operational reliability of process equipment in designated areas through systematic identification and investigation of recurring and/or costly process equipment failures; * Support reliability engineers in developing equipment maintenance strategies and ensure implementation of specified strategies; * Conduct root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for recurring failures; * Support/participate in implementing planned maintenance to optimize equipment availability while seeking optimization of maintenance costs; * Support implementation of key Alcoa Business System (ABS) principles using Autonomous Maintenance (AM) tools to optimize overall labor productivity; * Participate in capital project reviews, ensuring compliance with technical standards (Alcoa and ABNT) and occupational health and safety regulations; * Analyze current equipment performance data for the area, identify occurrences of recurring and/or costly failures, and provide recommendations to optimize sectoral/facility performance. What You Can Bring to This Role: * Education: Mechanical Engineering degree with active CREA registration. * Preferred: Advanced English proficiency (written, reading, and spoken); * Experience in Mechanical Maintenance within large-scale industrial settings (refineries, steel mills, and/or mining); * Preferred experience in maintenance of mineral transportation equipment (conveyor belts and stackers) and knowledge of port equipment; * Willingness to reside in São Luís, Maranhão (onsite work arrangement).
