Job Summary: Perform explosive loading, stemming, and detonation activities at open-pit mines, ensuring safety, productivity, and regulatory compliance. Key Highlights: 1. Continuous improvement of muck removal processes. **JOB PURPOSE** Perform explosive loading, stemming, and detonation activities at open-pit mines, strictly adhering to approved blast designs, safety regulations, applicable legislation, and defined technical parameters—contributing to proper material fragmentation, operational safety, and mining productivity. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** * Load explosives and detonation accessories in accordance with the approved blast design. * Perform stemming and connection of initiation systems, ensuring correct sequence and timing of detonations. * Support and participate in detonation activities, strictly following operational and safety procedures. * Inspect mining faces before and after detonations, identifying unsafe conditions, misfires, and implementing necessary corrective actions. * Ensure proper handling, internal transportation, temporary storage, and control of explosives and accessories. * Fully comply with applicable regulatory standards (NR\-22, NR\-19, and related legislation). * Maintain workplace organization, cleanliness, and safety. * Report operational deviations, unsafe conditions, and improvement opportunities to the Blaster II, Supervisor, or Mining Engineer. * Support activities related to measurement, marking, and verification of drill pattern layouts. * Contribute to continuous improvement of muck removal processes, respecting technical and safety standards. **REQUIREMENTS** * Completed elementary education (secondary education preferred). * Valid and recognized Blaster certification. * Basic knowledge of rock muck removal operations at open-pit mines. * Fundamental understanding of explosive handling safety. * Prior experience in mining or large-scale construction projects is desirable. **DESIRABLE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE** * Types of explosives and detonation accessories. * Loading and stemming procedures. * Basic ability to read and understand blast designs. * Identification of hazards in muck removal areas. * Safety regulations applicable to mining. **EXPECTED BEHAVIORS** * Rigorous commitment to safety. * Attention to detail and operational discipline. * Responsibility and reliability. * Teamwork and effective communication. * Adherence to procedures and regulations. * Proactive risk identification posture.
