The primary objective is to ensure that the work achieves its maximum communicative potential while respecting the original voice, yet refining the narrative. Responsibilities: \- Standardization: Apply style guides and ensure rigorous uniformity of terms, proper nouns, and jargon throughout the entire manuscript. \- Coherence and Cohesion: Identify and correct plot holes, logical contradictions, continuity issues, and excessive repetition of ideas or vocabulary. \- Tone Adjustment: Calibrate language for the target audience, adjusting formality level and ensuring cultural appropriateness of the text. \- Syntax and Style: Restructure confusing sentences, eliminate linguistic vices, resolve unwanted ambiguities, and improve expressive punctuation to ensure reading rhythm. \- Fact\-checking (basic): Validate accuracy of dates, geographic locations, and contextually evident historical data. Requirements: Completed or ongoing undergraduate degree in Literature, Journalism, Social Communication, Publishing, or related fields. Proven experience as a copy editor, text preparer, editor, or textual proofreader. Advanced mastery of the standard norm of the Portuguese language. Experience applying style guides and editorial standardization. Ability to identify narrative inconsistencies, continuity issues, and structural problems in long texts. Excellent sense of textual cohesion, coherence, and fluency. Familiarity with basic fact\-checking processes (dates, historical and geographic references). Organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
