Create an attractive environment that encourages the habit of reading and knowledge acquisition. **School Librarian** **Role Mission** Organize and revitalize the school library, promoting access to reading, information, and research, thereby supporting students’ intellectual, cultural, and social development in alignment with the school’s bilingual educational approach. **Main Responsibilities** Organize, catalog, and maintain up-to-date physical and digital bibliographic collections, including titles in Portuguese and other languages (in collaboration with the pedagogical team). Develop reading promotion projects and support reader development initiatives appropriate for students’ age groups. Storytelling; Mediate library use by students and teachers, guiding them in locating and appropriately using materials. Participate in the school’s pedagogical planning, contributing suggestions for supporting materials, literature, and research sources. Create and maintain an attractive and welcoming environment that fosters reading habits and a love of knowledge. Organize activities such as storytelling sessions, literary fairs, reading circles, book clubs, and other cultural initiatives. Support students in developing autonomy for searching, selecting, and ethically using information. Collaborate on curating materials in other languages, even with support from the bilingual coordination team. Manage digital reading platforms and educational tools used by the school. **Requirements** **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, with active registration at CRB (Regional Council of Librarianship). **Languages:** Bilingual proficiency is not required, but basic comprehension of titles in other languages is desirable for organizational and curation purposes, with pedagogical support. **Desired Knowledge:** Organization and cataloging of school library collections. Children’s and young adult literature, and reading projects. Digital tools and educational technology.
