We are looking for a Tech Lead with a strong hands-on execution focus to lead the technology efforts of a rapidly expanding online English education institution. This is not an entry-level position or one solely for task execution. We seek a mature professional capable of leading the development team (Front- and Back-end), making architectural decisions, and simultaneously working on complex code within an evolving educational ecosystem. You will inherit a high-demand environment where the initial lack of documentation should not be a barrier—but rather an invitation to investigate, map, and structure the legacy while building the platform’s future. Responsibilities and Duties 1\. Technical Management and Leadership (Tech Lead) Manage the development team, serving as the technical reference and focal point for architectural decision-making. Lead agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups), ensuring daily alignment, removing blockers, and providing continuous feedback on tasks. Manage workflow and deadlines via ClickUp, ensuring timely deliveries and technical quality. Validate Figma layouts (DevMode) prior to implementation, ensuring technical feasibility in collaboration with the Design team. 2\. Engineering and Development (Hands-on) Develop and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs using PHP v8.4+ and Laravel v10+. Enhance complex web interfaces (Student Portal, Admin Panel, and Checkout) using Vue.js 2.x and Vuex. Maintain and enhance React Native-integrated mobile applications. Implement and manage critical integrations, including Payment Gateways and OAuth2 authentication (Laravel Passport). Work with real-time communication via WebSockets (Pusher) for student status and payment updates. 3\. Architecture, Stability, and Documentation **Critical Challenge:** Work on systems lacking prior documentation—perform reverse engineering to understand business rules and subsequently create technical documentation (APIs and workflows). Monitor MySQL databases, optimize slow queries, and ensure relational integrity across systems. Perform manual interventions when necessary (e.g., data corrections in tables, contract generation) while developing definitive automation for these processes. Ensure test coverage with automated PHPUnit tests. Mandatory Technical Requirements (Hard Skills) The candidate must master the following technology stack already implemented at the institution: **Back-end:** Deep expertise in PHP 8 and the Laravel framework (Service Container, Eloquent, Jobs/Queues). **Front-end:** Advanced experience in JavaScript, Vue.js 2.x (Options/Composition API), Vuex, and Bootstrap/Sass. **Mobile:** Practical experience with React Native and API consumption. **Database:** Solid knowledge of MySQL (modeling and optimization). **Infra/Tools:** Git/GitHub (PR workflow and code review), Composer, NPM, and Linux/Apache. **Integrations:** Proven experience with REST APIs and Payment Gateways. Behavioral Competencies and Management **Investigative Autonomy:** Ability to "read the code" to understand business logic without relying on manuals. **Servant Leadership:** Guide junior/mid-level developers, raise the team’s technical bar, and deliver constructive feedback. **Organization:** Rigorous adherence to deadlines and consistent updating of task cards in management tools (ClickUp). **Communication:** Clarity in translating technical problems to leadership and business requirements to the technical team. Nice-to-Have Qualifications Prior experience in the Education and/or E-commerce sectors. Experience refactoring legacy systems into modern architectures. **Familiarity with specific libraries used:** echarts, vue2-editor, vue-multiselect.
