* **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Provide clinical care to patients undergoing General Triage, including medical history taking, clinical examination, and interpretation of initial imaging exams. Establish diagnoses, provide guidance on various dental conditions and diseases. Assess and determine the appropriate dental specialty for referral, and direct patients to the waiting list organized by specialty. Address patients’ possible questions regarding dental treatments; * Provide emergency care to patients currently undergoing treatment at the Institution, such as: dentoalveolar abscess, pain, cementation of temporary restorations and/or crowns, replacement or tightening of screws for implant-supported prostheses, emergency fractures and restorations, among others. In some cases, identify possible complications and planning errors made by students from dental courses and report them to the Course Coordinator Professor or responsible faculty member; * Perform procedures aimed at optimizing the oral environment, such as: prophylaxis, supragingival scaling, curettage, extractions, and temporary and definitive restorations to optimize the oral environment; * Conduct mass triage campaigns to evaluate large numbers of patients and populate the waiting list organized by specialty; * Act as an interface between patients and clinical teams, students and Coordination, focusing on resolving clinical problems or doubts; * Review patient records and assess reimbursement requests, issuing clinical opinions. Perform administrative tasks, such as: defining lists of products and clinical materials required for patient care, reporting clinical indicators, and responding to emails; * Specific to the Ombudsman Dentist: hold meetings with Team Coordinator Professors to resolve clinical issues arising from patient care and draft clinical opinions to support the Legal Department’s action plan.
