Job Summary: The Traffic Inspector conducts inspections and provides operational support on the highway, responding to incidents, deploying signage, guiding users, and communicating with the Operational Control Center (OCC) to ensure road safety. Key Highlights: 1. Responding to incidents and providing operational support on the highway. 2. Implementing traffic signage to ensure safety for users and staff. 3. Inspecting and monitoring the right-of-way to ensure road safety. The Traffic Inspector’s mission is to perform inspection and operational support activities on the highway, including incident response, signage deployment, user guidance, and communication with the Operational Control Center (OCC), in accordance with road safety procedures and standards. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Respond daily to all demands dispatched by the OCC, including accidents, incidents, general mechanical breakdowns, operational support, and assistance to the Federal Highway Police (PRF). * Deploy traffic signage at incident sites on the highway to ensure the safety and integrity of staff and users receiving assistance, and to alert passing vehicles that an incident is underway. * Provide user assistance at the Support Base (SAU), delivering information and guidance to address potential questions, ensuring service quality and user satisfaction on the highway. * Conduct traffic inspections along the concessioned stretch, monitoring the right-of-way and identifying potential situations that may compromise road safety—such as unauthorized access points, encroachments, unpermitted constructions, and irregular advertising—among others. * Follow standard operating procedures as outlined in the Concessionaire’s Operations Manual. * Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of the patrol vehicle, performing routine checklists and inspections of tools and equipment, and maintaining an organized support base to guarantee high-quality user assistance. * Complete the company’s standard form for all interventions, recording all user data and information about the assisted vehicle, as well as taking photographic documentation of the incident (when necessary) and forwarding it to the OCC for registration. * Communicate exclusively via radio network with the Operational Control Center (OCC), logging data, incidents, dispatches, and other required information. * During inspection duties, remove objects and animals from the roadway to maintain user safety and traffic flow. Nova Rota do Oeste is the concessionaire responsible for the 850.9 km stretch of BR-163 between Itiquira (MT) and Sinop (MT). The company assumed operation of the BR-163/364 highway in Mato Grosso. It performs maintenance and conservation of the highway and also provides user assistance—including medical aid, mechanical support, and light/heavy towing services.
