Occupational Safety Technician
**Description and Responsibilities**

**Schedule:** Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)
**Employment type:** Full-time – CLT
* Perform safety inspections in departments using checklists, monitoring the use of PPE and engineering controls, assessing the condition of the environment, machines and equipment, identifying follow-up needs for activities, guiding, notifying or warning employees in cases of non-use of PPE;
* Monitor company high-risk activities according to regulatory standards, collecting requirements from managers, completing work permits and preliminary risk analyses, as well as going into the field to supervise activity execution and guide employees when necessary;
* Provide PPE and engineering controls to employees according to PPRA and/or PGR, seeking quotes, making purchases and tracking system approvals, as well as attending to employees at onboarding or in case of replacement, requesting items from inventory, and completing PPE delivery records;
* Receive medical certificates from employees, recording them in control spreadsheets, consolidating data on reasons, departments, number of absence days, and forwarding information to HR and Payroll;
* Submit notifications to Social Security for employees absent for 15 (fifteen) days or more, considering the reason (sick leave or work-related accident), via the Meu INSS website, entering personal details and reason for absence, generating absence forms and instructing employees on procedures;
* Arrange uniforms for employees (production, logistics, trade marketing and maintenance), obtaining quotes, aligning models, approvals and purchases, delivering items to employees, and maintaining control in PPE records;
* Conduct awareness campaigns through lectures, training sessions, DSS, SIPAT and other methods, identifying gaps to address, seeking partnerships and/or developing materials, organizing groups in coordination with managers, and executing actions;
* Deliver training courses according to regulatory standards, monitoring training validity, preparing materials or sourcing suppliers, as well as obtaining quotes and approvals;
* Manage payments for SESMT services and/or products, placing orders in the system, delivering invoices to accounting, and tracking approvals;
* Conduct visits to sales points, creating schedules in partnership with the Trade Marketing department manager, observing PPE usage and posture, and providing guidance to employees;
* Consolidate department indicators, considering medical certificates, workplace accidents, absences, analyzing indices, identifying gaps and proposing control actions, as well as presenting results to management;
* Manage periodic medical exams, considering document validity, scheduling with managers and providers according to timelines agreed with management;
* Arrange waste collection (contaminated, hazardous), identifying needs, obtaining quotes and approvals, scheduling collections, coordinating proper waste disposal, and supervising the service;
* Support CIPA (Internal Accident Prevention Committee) in compliance with legislation, following established schedules and terms, organizing candidacies, elections, announcing elected members, and developing training and meeting schedules;
* Establish and maintain a voluntary Fire Brigade in accordance with regulatory instructions, following scheduled timelines, delivering training and conducting simulations;
* Prepare PPP (Previdenciário Professional Profile) upon request, identifying environmental risks per job function and preparing the document;
* Provide emergency response or workplace accident care, administering first aid and/or outpatient treatment, referring employees for medical care when needed, and monitoring hospital treatment in serious cases, including filing an accident report (CAT) when applicable;
* Investigate reported accidents using specific forms, focusing on causes and possible contributing factors, and mapping improvement opportunities;
* Arrange issuance of safety reports according to NRs and current laws, obtaining quotes, approvals and contracting services, providing quantitative and qualitative data on risks associated with machines, equipment and job functions, validating issued documents according to applied methodologies and suggested action plans;
* Participate in inspections by competent authorities, receiving and accompanying inspectors, providing documentation and information regarding machine and equipment safety and environmental matters, complying with given deadlines;
* Perform other related duties as requested by immediate management.
**Requirements**
--------------
**Required Experience/Background:**
Experience in the industrial, civil construction or similar sectors;
Experience delivering training (e.g., NRs);
Development and monitoring of departmental indicators;
Completed Technical Course in Occupational Safety;
Desirable: Proficiency courses in occupational safety (regulations);
Basic computer skills (Excel);
