Job Summary** The General Services Assistant performs maintenance, conservation, and cleaning of the educational institution’s premises. The professional is responsible for ensuring that infrastructure and environment are safe, clean, and in optimal working condition, contributing to the well-being and quality of education for students, teachers, and staff. **2\. Key Responsibilities** **Building Maintenance and Infrastructure:** * **Minor Repairs:** Perform basic repairs in masonry, painting, flooring, and roofing. * **Electrical and Plumbing Installations:** Carry out simple repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, outlets, faucets, flush valves, and unclogging drains. * **Furniture Management:** Assemble, repair, and organize desks, chairs, cabinets, and classroom boards. * **Logistical Support:** Assist in organizing school events (e.g., stage setup, chair arrangement, sound system installation). * **Material Control:** Organize tool and supply inventory, requesting replenishment when necessary. **Cleaning, Conservation, and Custodial Services:** * **External Area Cleaning:** Sweep and clean courtyards, sidewalks, and communal areas. * **Waste Management:** Empty and sanitize internal and external trash bins, ensuring proper selective collection and disposal. * **Basic Gardening:** Perform basic maintenance of gardens and green areas (e.g., flowerbed cleaning, leaf and debris removal). * **General Conservation:** Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas (hallways, restrooms, classrooms, and courtyards), ensuring a hygienic environment. **3\. Conduct Protocols in the Educational Environment** *Given the nature of the school environment, the employee must strictly adhere to the following guidelines:* * **Material Safety:** Tools, cleaning supplies, and maintenance chemicals must be securely stored and kept out of students’ reach. * **Hazard Signage:** Any area undergoing maintenance or cleaning (e.g., wet floors, ongoing repairs) must be cordoned off or marked with warning signs to prevent accidents. * **Discretion and Professional Demeanor:** Work must be carried out with maximum discretion during class hours, avoiding excessive noise or disruption to teaching activities. * **Risk Prevention:** Immediate reporting to management is mandatory for any hazard (e.g., exposed wires, broken glass, sharp objects) that threatens the physical safety of the school community. **4\. Requirements and Qualifications** * **Education:** Completed elementary school. * **Experience:** Prior experience in building maintenance, conservation, or general services. * **Technical Knowledge:** Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, painting, and handling of cleaning products. * **Behavioral Profile:** Proactivity, attention to detail, courtesy, and flexibility in working hours to respond to emergencies or events.
