Senior Network Technician (Telecommunications)

Description

**We are looking for someone to perform the following activities:** a) Plan, implement, and maintain data network topologies, including routing, packet switching, IP addressing, subnetting, and network segmentation. b) Administer connectivity technologies (Ethernet, Wi\-Fi, LAN, WAN, MAN, VPN, MPLS, SD\-WAN, and related), ensuring availability, performance, and scalability. c) Maintain the current environment in accordance with change management guidelines; d) Implement and manage network security controls, defining policies, configuring firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and authentication mechanisms, as well as monitoring compliance. e) Configure, monitor, and optimize communication protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, SNMP, SMTP, ICMP, etc.), ensuring interoperability and traffic efficiency. f) Install, configure, and maintain network hardware — switches, routers, firewalls, access points, WLAN controllers, gateways, and load balancers. g) Diagnose and resolve incidents using tools such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, and structured troubleshooting methodologies. h) Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and requirements for communication networks, promoting industry best practices. i) Design, configure, and operate IP infrastructure supporting VoIP, including VLAN creation, QoS implementation, and end-to-end connectivity validation. j) Administer Asterisk-based IP telephony systems, managing SIP/IAX protocols, carrier integration, and IVR implementation. k) Develop voice automations, customizing dialplans, integrating databases, and building applications via AGI/AMI to optimize customer service routines. l) Implement VoIP security measures, preventing fraud, configuring dedicated firewalls, monitoring calls, and performing log analysis for advanced support; **What skills are required:** a) Must be of legal age; b) Diploma or certificate of completion of a technical-level program in information technology, duly registered and recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). c) Possession of one of the following certifications: 1\) CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification OR 2\) dCAP (The Digium\-Certified Asterisk Professional) certification d) Minimum of 5 (five) years of proven professional experience covering the following tools and knowledge areas: d.1\) Computer Networks: Understanding of computer networking fundamentals, including network topologies, communication protocols, data routing, packet switching, IP addressing, subnetting, and network segmentation. d.2\) Networking Technologies: Ethernet, Wi\-Fi, LAN, WAN, MAN, VPNs, MPLS, SD\-WAN, among others. d.3\) Network Security: Firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, authentication, security policies, and network security best practices. d.4\) Network Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, SNMP, SMTP, ICMP, among others. d.5\) Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Ability to identify and resolve network issues using diagnostic tools such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, among others, and understanding of network troubleshooting techniques. d.6\) Standards and Regulations: Relevant standards and regulations in the field of communication networks, including security standards, regulatory compliance, and industry-recommended practices. d.7\) VoIP Connectivity: Configuration and management of IP networks, VLANs, QoS, and connectivity diagnostics for VoIP. d.8\) IP Telephony: Asterisk administration, SIP/IAX protocols, carrier integration, and IVR implementation. d.9\) Automation: Dialplan customization, database integration, and application development using AGI/AMI. d.10\) Security: VoIP security, fraud prevention, firewall usage, and call monitoring. d.11\) Support: Advanced diagnostics, log analysis, technical support, and deployment of corporate VoIP solutions.
