Job Summary: Perform laboratory analyses to ensure the quality of raw materials and finished products, manage records, and participate in non-conformance investigations. Key Highlights: 1. Conduct tests and evaluate results for raw materials and finished products 2. Ensure analysis and release of products in accordance with specifications 3. Participate in non-conformance investigations and MSA studies Perform laboratory analyses and tests to ensure the release, hold, or disposition of raw materials and finished products in accordance with internal and customer specifications. Ensure recordkeeping in the system, issuance of analysis certificates, participation in non-conformance investigations, support for audits and MSA studies, and contribute to organizational practices and compliance with applicable safety and environmental requirements for the area. **Key Responsibilities:** * Perform tests, evaluate results, and determine disposition of raw materials, domestic and imported finished products at all process stages (receiving, processing, release, and revalidation); * Perform additional analyses requested by customers, technical support, R&D, and other PPG plants; * Define product adjustments per internal procedures to ensure material conformance; * Ensure analysis and release of products within customer specifications, with authority to hold production or shipment in case of specification non-compliance; * Ensure timely escalation of information in cases of product non-conformance or risk of rejection; * Record material disposition in the system (ERP system); * Ensure preparation and timely issuance of product analysis certificates; * Maintain up-to-date quality control records; * Comply with procedures for retention and disposal of raw materials, product samples, and test specimens; * Participate in non-conformance investigation processes as required; * Participate in the execution of MSA studies; * Provide on-the-job training to new employees based on technical standards and procedures; * Conduct internal departmental audits when required; * Support departmental 5S activities, maintaining workplace organization and cleanliness; **Mandatory Requirements:** * Certified Chemical Technician registered with CRQ * Laboratory experience **Preferred Requirements:** * Experience in an automotive industry laboratory * Intermediate knowledge of Windows / Office * Training in ISO/IEC 17025 * Training in PFMEA * Training in SPC **About us:** **PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD™** Through leadership in innovation, sustainability and color, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
