




Job Summary: The Collection Technician is responsible for the collection, identification, preparation, and storage of biological materials, ensuring biosafety and humanized patient care. Humanized care and reduction of discomfort **Main Responsibilities of the Collection Technician:** * **Collection of biological materials:** * Venous and capillary blood. * Urine, feces, secretions, and other materials for laboratory testing. * **Identification and registration of samples:** * Verify patient data and correctly label tubes and containers to prevent errors. * **Patient preparation and guidance:** * Inform patients about fasting requirements, timing, and other pre-collection precautions. * Welcome patients with empathy and respect, especially in sensitive situations. * **Storage and transportation of samples:** * Ensure proper preservation until delivery to the laboratory, following biosafety standards. * **Control of materials and supplies:** * Check expiration dates, stock levels, and condition of collection materials. * **Completion of documentation and systems entry:** * Enter information into the clinic’s or laboratory’s system. * **Humanized care:** * Reduce patient discomfort and anxiety during the procedure.
