As a **Backend Software Engineer** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge technology, applying engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning—all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America. Imagine leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects, **and being responsible for:** * Evolving an agentic assistant powered by LLMs, ensuring robustness, observability, and scalability—while investigating and mitigating hallucinations to enhance agent reliability, accuracy, and security; * Proposing and implementing improvements to System Prompt, RAG, and MCPs to increase response efficiency and quality; * Conducting shadowing sessions with internal users to understand workflows, pain points, opportunities, and real usage requirements—and integrating and orchestrating MCPs across different business units; * Ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory best practices, and measuring and monitoring quality metrics; * Collaborating on architecture definitions and quality standards (testing, code reviews, system design, and performance). **What we’re looking for:** * Experience developing in Golang with strong engineering practices (e.g., SOLID, Clean Code). * Knowledge of service architecture and development: Clean Architecture, Design Patterns, Microservices, asynchronous systems, and messaging. * Knowledge of data persistence: relational databases, NoSQL, search engines, and caching mechanisms. * Experience with observability (logs, metrics, tracing), reliability, and incident analysis.
