Continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (QSMS) **Job Description** Plan, develop, implement, and manage Occupational Safety Engineering activities to promote accident prevention, preservation of employee health, and compliance with applicable legislation. Strategically identify, assess, and control occupational hazards, advising the company on implementing OHS-related programs, standards, and measures within the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (QSMS) framework. **Main Responsibilities** * Develop, implement, and monitor Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and policies in accordance with applicable legislation; * Propose standards, procedures, and preventive or corrective measures to eliminate or mitigate occupational hazards; * Advise various company departments on occupational safety matters; * Assess safety conditions of work environments, facilities, machinery, equipment, and work processes; * Review construction, facility, and equipment projects from an occupational safety perspective, issuing technical opinions; * Specify, recommend, and evaluate the quality of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Collective Protective Equipment (CPE); * Plan, implement, and monitor fire prevention and suppression systems, emergency plans, and risk control measures; * Delimit hazardous, unhealthy, and other special-risk areas, preparing technical reports and opinions as required by applicable legislation; * Evaluate occupational exposure to physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and mechanical agents, proposing control measures; * Investigate accidents, incidents, and deviations, identifying root causes and developing preventive and corrective action plans; * Participate in technical specifications for procurement of machinery, equipment, chemicals, and materials posing risks to health and safety; * Monitor receipt, storage, transportation, and use of hazardous materials; * Collaborate in defining fitness requirements for job functions, considering associated occupational risks; * Manage occupational safety performance indicators, maintaining statistics, management reports, and accident analyses; * Prepare, review, and monitor mandatory programs and technical documents, such as Risk Assessment Program (PGR), Technical Report on Hazardous Working Conditions (LTCAT), Emergency Action Plan (PAE), and reports on unhealthy or hazardous working conditions; * Plan, develop, and deliver training, educational campaigns, and awareness initiatives on accident prevention and occupational health; * Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and technical expert assessments, supporting the company; * Engage in projects, programs, courses, events, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (QSMS); * Use computerized systems to prepare reports, monitor indicators, and manage departmental information; * Work in compliance with technical standards, labor, environmental, and safety legislation, contributing to the organization’s strategic objectives; * Perform other duties compatible with this position and aligned with company needs. **Requirements** **Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related fields; * Postgraduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering; * Active registration with the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy (CREA). **Experience:** * Minimum of 6 months of experience in this role. **Preferred Experience:** * 1.5 years of experience as an Occupational Safety Engineer, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial companies. **Desired Competencies** * In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Regulatory Standards (NRs); * Experience in developing and managing mandatory OHS programs (e.g., PGR, LTCAT, technical reports, emergency plans, etc.); * Knowledge of accident investigation and analysis, risk management, and action plan development; * Experience in audits, inspections, technical expert assessments, and construction site supervision; * Familiarity with integrated management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001); * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and occupational health and safety management software; * Analytical ability, strategic vision, and focus on risk prevention; * Leadership, strong communication skills, ability to conduct training, and team development capabilities; * Organizational skills, proactivity, commitment, and decision-making ability. **Differentiators** * Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, sanitation, or mining projects; * Certifications or additional courses in Risk Management, Management System Auditing, NR-35, NR-33, Fire Protection, or related areas; * Experience in implementing and maintaining QSMS management systems; * Knowledge of risk analysis tools, performance indicators, and continuous improvement methodologies.
