Posting Date: May 20, 2026 Location: Rio Grande, RS, BR Knowledge Area: Maintenance Job Type: Permanent Work Mode: On-site Job Requisition ID: 24775 **Mechanic I** ============== At Yara, we are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly address some of the world's biggest challenges \- resource scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental change. **Apply by** -------------------- 05/31/2026 **Position Description \| Responsibilities** --------------------------------------------- * Perform, under supervision, low- and medium-complexity mechanical maintenance services, including assembling and disassembling machines and equipment, repairing or replacing components and parts, as well as performing preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on all equipment and their respective accessories. * Carry out adjustments and calibrations of all mechanical and pneumatic equipment according to each machine's specifications, using appropriate tools and instruments, to ensure availability, service life, operational continuity, and compliance with required quality and safety standards, meeting deadlines aligned with the operations/production plan; * Assist in manufacturing replacement parts using specialized machinery such as planers, milling machines, sanders, drills, hand tools, and measuring instruments; assemble, adjust, and test machines and/or equipment, and perform primary lubrication according to manufacturing drawings; * Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization, and ensure proper care, storage, and upkeep of tools and equipment, keeping them organized and clean for reuse when necessary, in accordance with applicable standards and procedures; * Perform simple and semi-skilled general tasks within the maintenance/vulcanization department, such as transporting parts and materials across company premises as directed by supervisors, and organizing the vulcanization workshop; * Apply rubber and resin coatings—including fiberglass-reinforced resins—to various components, e.g., conveyor belt rollers, impellers, reactor tanks, washers, chutes, etc.; * Handle and operate support equipment—including forklifts, cranes, overhead cranes, manual hoists, and ratchet hoists—provided the employee is duly certified and trained; also manage, store, and distribute tools according to maintenance requirements. **Profile \| Education and Knowledge** -------------------------------------- * Completed High School; * Vocational training in mechanics; * Collaborative mindset, initiative, curiosity, ownership mentality, and respect for diversity. **Contact Information** -------------------------- Human Resources **Knowledge Cultivated Through Diversity** Yara is committed to building a diverse and inclusive environment and takes pride in being an equal-opportunity employer.
