In general, the main responsibilities of a security guard include: * **Access control** for people, vehicles, and materials, verifying authorizations, identifications, and records. * **Asset surveillance**, conducting periodic patrols to prevent theft, robbery, vandalism, and other incidents. * **Observation and monitoring** of areas via security cameras, alarms, and other electronic systems. * **Preventive action**, identifying potential risks and implementing measures to avoid incidents. * **Response to emergency situations**, such as fires, intrusions, or conflicts, following established security procedures. * **Communication and documentation of incidents**, reporting relevant events to supervisors, the company, or competent authorities. * **Compliance with legal requirements**, including ethical conduct, proper use of equipment, and, where authorized, carrying and handling of firearms.
