




Provide technical support for mechanical engineering projects and works in industrial environments, focusing on mechanical systems, rotating and static equipment, piping, and industrial installations. Level II is responsible for executing and technically coordinating medium to high complexity activities, ensuring compliance with project and contractual requirements, quality standards, PETROBRAS, national and international standards, and HSE guidelines, without allowing uncontracted services to be performed. Operates with moderate autonomy under the technical guidance of Level III professionals/project coordination. **Mechanical design and technical documentation** * Define design assumptions and criteria; develop technical scope and material lists (MTO/BOM). * Produce descriptive and calculation reports; prepare and review drawings (layouts, plans, sections, isometrics, and details). * Control revisions, as-built documentation, and data-book; ensure traceability and compliance of deliverables. **Mechanical analysis and sizing** * Size equipment and components (thicknesses, reinforcements, nozzles) according to applicable codes. * Perform piping flexibility/stress analyses and verify supports and loads. * Validate operational and maintenance assumptions in design (accessibility, maintenance, fatigue, vibration). **Piping and integrated 3D layout** * Develop isometrics, material classes, and line lists; define routes and support systems. * Ensure accessibility, clearances, expansion joints, and integrity during operation/maintenance. * Conduct 3D clash detection with instrumentation, electrical, automation, and civil disciplines; adjust layouts for safety and ergonomics. **Mechanical equipment (rotating and static)** * Select and specify pumps, fans, and compressors (performance curves, NPSH, efficiency, operating point). * Specify tanks, vessels, and heat exchangers based on process data and applicable standards. * Define alignment, vibration, sealing, interlock, and startup condition requirements. **Materials, corrosion, and asset integrity** * Select materials, coatings, and treatments according to fluid, temperature, and environment. * Support inspection and maintenance plans (NDT, thickness measurement) and spare parts recommendations. * Mitigate corrosion and failure risks in collaboration with inspection/quality and operations teams. **Technical standards, compliance, and HSE** * Apply ABNT, ASME, API, ISO, legal regulations (NRs), and client-specific requirements (e.g., Petrobras/Transpetro). * Participate in HAZOP/HAZID studies and safety reviews; integrate HSE requirements into design. * Audit technical compliance of suppliers and field installation. **Planning, quality, and risk management** * Break down scope (WBS), estimate effort, support schedules and milestones; manage technical interfaces. * Monitor progress (RDO, measurements, reports) and performance indicators (deadlines, rework, compliance). * Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives; standardize templates and lessons learned. **Technical procurement and supplier management** * Prepare TR/ET, conduct RFI/RFQ, and evaluate technical proposals using objective criteria. * Supervise manufacturing, FAT/SAT, and documentation; ensure supply timelines and quality. * Validate manuals, certificates, data sheets, and spare parts recommendations. **Field activities: supervision, installation, commissioning, and closeout** * Inspect receipt, storage, and installation of equipment and piping; issue checklists, NCRs, and punch lists. * Execute/supervise flushing, leak testing, tightness tests, and operational tests. * Consolidate evidence, release work fronts, and complete final documentation (as-built and data-book). **Multidisciplinary integration and client communication** * Coordinate interfaces with process, instrumentation, electrical, automation, civil, and HSE disciplines. * Lead technical meetings, scope alignments, and progress presentations. * Write clear reports and respond to RFIs on time; conduct site visits and technical inspections. **Digital tools and methods** * Use AutoCAD/Plant 3D/Navisworks for layouts and interference checks. * Employ CAD/CAE (SolidWorks/Inventor) and analysis tools (e.g., Caesar II). * Support planning and control with MS Project and Excel; adopt BIM/3D standards where applicable.
