All applications must be submitted exclusively through our official channels.* **Responsibilities and Duties** * Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, including mapping, empirical and numerical analysis, and in\-situ investigations to determine rock mass conditions and properties in planned excavations; * Interpret rock mechanics data and mapping to assess rock mass conditions during shaft deepening and underground excavations (galleries, raises, etc.); * Conduct routine site visits to ensure exposed rock mass walls are mapped and characterized; * Analyze geotechnical drilling data from boreholes, Fandrill drilling, field tests, and laboratory tests to understand rock mass conditions using empirical and numerical methods; * Provide technical guidance and recommendations based on analyses; * Review excavation support designs to ensure project stability during and after completion; * Recommend additional or alternative support systems for identified geotechnical risks; * Document support installation locations and develop and implement support layouts and standards; * Develop geotechnical risk management programs for the shaft throughout the mine’s life; * Develop grouting plans to control groundwater, grouting/resin injection in boreholes for cable and bolt installation, borehole filling, and stabilization of highly fractured rock masses; * Supervise all geotechnical aspects during construction, ensuring excavation processes comply with project geotechnical specifications; * Implement quality control procedures to ensure integrity of geotechnical specifications, and knowledge of excavation backfilling methods: paste fill, rock fill, waste, and materials used in underground excavation stabilization: rock bolts, cables, mesh, shotcrete, and technical testing of underground mine support strength; * Analysis of paste and shotcrete rheology in the context of paste transport for raise backfilling and shotcrete application in the underground mine. * Knowledge of seismic behavior and seismic monitoring systems regarding natural in situ stress reactions and mining-induced stresses in rock masses subjected to high stress levels. * Plan and implement a monitoring program to identify rock mass movements, shaft stability, groundwater levels, in situ and induced stress levels, and vibration analysis caused by rock blasting, correlating with any damage observed in excavations; * Prepare detailed geotechnical reports documenting assessments, recommendations, analytical decisions, construction progress, implementation, and regular monitoring results; * Report any non-conformities related to underground excavation stability to Technicians, Engineers, and Coordination; * Maintain daily updates to the database so all personnel have access to information; * Ability to operate light vehicles on surface and underground; * Lead your team responsibly, ensuring all members are knowledgeable about applicable norms and procedures related to their work, pursuing control, quality, and safety; **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geology; * Experience in underground mine geotechnics (the candidate will focus specifically on shaft and associated gallery stability assessment in short- and long-term contexts, and develop systematic monitoring and engineering controls to support project execution); * Experience/training in: rock mechanics, structural geology, fundamentals of mining engineering, hydrogeology, principles of geotechnical engineering; * Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software for mining (e.g., Rocscience, Map3D, etc.); * Knowledge of empirical methods for geotechnical risk analysis and excavation stability; * Knowledge of mine planning software (e.g., Datamine, Deswik, Vulcan), along with monitoring techniques, equipment, and project management; * Proficiency in microseismic monitoring software is considered a plus; * English proficiency is considered a plus; * Driver’s license Class B for operating light vehicles underground. **Additional Information** **What We Offer?** Medical Insurance; Dental Insurance; Shuttle Service; Life Insurance; Profit Sharing (PLR); Private Pension Plan; Meal Voucher; Cafeteria; Extended Maternity and Paternity Leave; Gym Membership Assistance (Gympass); Pharmacy Assistance; Education Assistance for Children; English Education Incentive; Triennial Bonus; Additional Vacation Bonus (2/3 of vacation pay). #### **We are ERO, one of Brazil’s leading copper and gold producers.** **We belong to a global group headquartered in Canada with a strong presence in Brazil.
