Focus on scalability, productivity, and uptime As a **Software Engineer Backend** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge technology, applying engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning to democratize e-commerce and financial services across Latin America. Imagine\-yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects and being **responsible for:** * Collaborating with the Cloud and Platform team, gaining an overview of our internal platform development and exposure to cross\-Meli impact projects. * Designing and implementing solutions to address high-volume, resilience-critical problems—with strong emphasis on scalability, productivity, and uptime—while maintaining and enhancing high-complexity Fury services (e.g., BigQueue, KVS, OS, DS, Streams, etc.) so they can serve as foundational services for all applications across the Meli ecosystem. * Actively participating in the creation of new services arising from UN needs analysis or technological evolution, as well as in organizing, defining, and prioritizing the team’s backlog and roadmap. * Focusing on component reuse, task automation, and developing supporting tools (e.g., CLIs), etc. * Listening to development teams (e.g., handling support tickets, surveys, and talks) to understand their needs and improve developer experience—and then fulfilling those needs through service development with strong emphasis on usability and documentation. **What are we looking for in you?** * Backend development expertise in languages such as: Java, Go, NodeJS, REST APIs, Git, New Relic, Elastic, among others. * Knowledge of cloud-based services. * Understanding of concurrent programming and high-throughput systems. * Availability to perform deployment, maintenance, or support tasks during nighttime hours. * The most critical implementations of our solutions occur between 03:00 and 05:00\.
