Job Summary: The Occupational Safety Technician will be responsible for accident prevention, occupational health promotion, and compliance with safety regulations in logistics operations. Safety management and regulatory compliance Simas is a logistics operator distinguished by its strategic approach, with operational units and distribution centers located across several points nationwide. We utilize advanced logistics management systems, such as WMS, to deliver personalized service in cargo transportation, warehousing management, and goods distribution. The Occupational Safety Technician focuses on accident prevention, occupational health promotion, and adherence to safety regulations. In a logistics company, their responsibilities include: 1\. Field (Operational) Activities * Supervising loading and unloading operations, verifying correct use of PPEs and collective protective equipment; * Identifying hazards associated with forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, and other material handling equipment; * Monitoring safe procedures for lifting, manual handling of loads, and securing cargo in vehicles; * Conducting safety inspections at docks, warehouses, and external material handling areas; * Delivering training sessions and DDSs (Daily Safety Dialogues) focused on ergonomics, accident prevention, and safe behavior; * Responding immediately to hazardous situations, including area shutdowns and employee guidance; * Supporting investigations of accidents or near\-misses, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions. 2\. Administrative and Management Activities * Recording and analyzing safety incidents and metrics (e.g., accidents, absences, incidents); * Participating in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards; * Developing and monitoring corrective and preventive action plans based on non-conformities and risk analyses; * Maintaining spreadsheets and dashboards for tracking safety metrics (Excel, Google Sheets); * Using safety and quality management software (e.g., SOGI, SOC, TOTVS, among others); * Applying problem-solving methodologies such as 5W2H, PDCA, Ishikawa, etc.; * Updating legal documentation, including PPRA (or PGR), PCMSO, JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses), checklists, and technical reports; * Onboarding new employees with emphasis on safe practices in logistics operations.
