What does the **Cloud** area do at **Porto**?
The **Cloud** area is responsible for the cloud adoption strategy, IDP platform, consumption of cloud-native technologies, defining best practices for usage, application modernization, governance, cost management, and security of Porto's corporate multi\-cloud platforms, with its primary focus being to deliver the agility and autonomy required for our teams to accelerate the evolution of our products and businesses.
In the **Cloud Platform Engineering** team, we are responsible for centralized management of multi\-cloud platforms, defining foundational architecture, infrastructure standards, operations, processes, governance, availability, performance, and security through automation tools and infrastructure products delivered via platform-as-code, always aiming to provide agility and autonomy to our customers.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Promote continuous improvement in the processes and products offered, focusing on agility and autonomy for systems teams;
* Engage with vendors and partners to identify solutions, address issues, and drive innovation for our cloud-based products and services.
* Define, document, and implement standards and best practices for cloud resource usage aligned with operational excellence frameworks such as W.A.F (Well Architected Framework);
* Develop cloud products and services, ensuring all cloud infrastructure adheres to standards for operations, monitoring, automation, security, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency;
* Ensure cloud resource governance and visibility through dashboards, KPIs, metrics, reports, recommendations, instructions, and operational manuals;
* Manage increasing complexity of cloud environments, including multi\-cloud and hybrid setups.
* Stay abreast of constant changes and innovations in the cloud computing market, continuously optimizing available solutions.
* Make strategic decisions regarding cloud architecture, technologies, and providers, balancing business requirements and costs.
* Lead the company’s digital transformation, managing change and mitigating risks.
* Clearly and concisely communicate technical solutions to diverse audiences, including technical teams and executives.
* Collaborate in a cross-functional environment with development, infrastructure, and security teams.
* Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures aligned with business needs.
* Create and maintain scripts and tools to automate infrastructure tasks, ensuring agility and consistency in processes.
* Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering professional development and dissemination of best practices.
* Lead complex cloud migration projects and implementation of new solutions.
* Define and implement security practices to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance.
* Analyze and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, identifying opportunities for reduction.
* Track the latest trends in cloud computing and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **What you need to join this team:**
* Deep understanding of service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), reference architectures, and best practices.
* Practical experience with at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Shell for scripting and task automation.
* Ability to lead and motivate technical teams, along with excellent communication skills.
* Capacity to align technical solutions with business objectives.
* Advanced level of technical documentation reading and communication with international teams.
* Hold an Architect- or Professional-level technical certification from AWS, Azure, or GCP.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
* Knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
* Understanding of cloud security (perimeter, data, and IAM).
* Certification in Linux or networking.
* Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and AIOps.
