Telecommunications Technician (FTTH/Networks)

Description

Job Summary: A professional responsible for installing, activating, and maintaining fiber-optic networks using precision tools and configuring equipment in residential and corporate environments. Key Highlights: 1. Optical network installation and activation 2. Preventive and corrective network maintenance 3. Wi-Fi equipment configuration * **Installation and Activation:** Perform optical drop installation, hardware mounting, fiber connectorization, and ONU/router configuration in residential and corporate environments. * **Network Maintenance (Preventive and Corrective):** Address cable breaks, perform optical fiber splicing, and repair Customer Terminal Outlets (CTO) and Splice Enclosure Outlets (CEO). * **Diagnosis and Testing:** Use precision tools such as **OTDR**, Power Meter, and Optical Pen to identify attenuation points or cable breaks. * **Equipment Configuration:** Configure Wi-Fi networks (channels, 2.4/5 GHz frequencies) and conduct throughput (bandwidth) testing. * **Infrastructure:** Install aerial and underground cables, adhering to safety regulations (NR-10 and NR-35) and energy utility standards. * **Documentation:** Record service activities via system/app, download work orders, and interpret network diagrams and maps (Google Earth/SpliceCare or similar). **Required Qualifications** * Completed high school education (a technical degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Networks is a plus). * Proven experience in optical fiber splicing and operation of fusion splicers. * Knowledge of GPON/FTTH network topologies. * Basic understanding of TCP/IP networks (LAN/WAN configuration and basic routing). * Valid Brazilian driver's license (CNH B).
