Job Summary:
The Welding Team Leader plans, assigns, and monitors welding activities, ensuring process compliance, weld quality, and team management while promoting continuous improvement.
Key Highlights:
1. Lead and guide the welding team, including welders, operators, and assistants
2. Ensure correct application of welding processes and weld quality
3. Promote organization, safety, and continuous improvement in the welding area
Plan and assign daily welding activities (MIG and Submerged Arc) according to production orders and priorities.
Ensure correct application of welding processes, adhering to technical parameters, WPS/PQR, and standards (ASME, AWS).
Monitor part preparation, assembly, and fit-up to ensure welding compliance.
Monitor machines and equipment, initiating preventive and corrective maintenance as required.
Control consumables usage (wires, gases, fluxes, electrodes) to avoid waste.
Inspect weld quality through visual inspection and non-destructive testing, escalating non-conformities to Quality.
Assign tasks and monitor team performance (welders, operators, and assistants) to ensure productivity and goal achievement.
Train and guide the team on best manufacturing practices, safety, organization, and part handling.
Foster a collaborative environment, serving as the liaison between the team, supervision, and management.
Evaluate team members' technical and behavioral performance, identifying training needs or behavioral adjustments.
Implement and reinforce quality standards to reduce rework and losses.
Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, TPM, Lean).
Participate in internal and external audits to ensure area compliance.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
Guarantee cleaning, maintenance, and correct storage of PPE.
Monitor storage and disposal of materials and waste in accordance with environmental and internal regulations.
Promote organization and cleanliness in the welding area (machines, tools, workbenches, and stock).
Report equipment failures, deviations, or maintenance needs to responsible departments.
Collaborate with PCP, Quality, Maintenance, and Production departments to align operations and meet deadlines.
