Would you like to join our team? **Primary Location:** Brazil (BR) \- São Paulo \- Indaiatuba **Function:** Data and Analytics (CA) **Title:** Staff Data Engineer \- Indaiatuba/SP \- 118733 As a Staff Data Engineer embedded at Banco John Deere, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership on the data platform—defining architecture, standards, and data engineering best practices that ensure scalability, governance, reliability, and sustainability of data solutions. You will operate cross-functionally, supporting multiple teams and products, serving as the technical authority for strategic data decisions, collaborating closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and business units. This is an Individual Contributor position with strong organizational impact and a long-term focus. **Key Responsibilities** -------------------------------- * Define and evolve the data platform architecture, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption. * Establish technical standards and data engineering best practices for use across multiple teams. * Serve as a technical authority, supporting architectural decisions and promoting mentorship. * Lead decisions related to scalability, cost, governance, data quality, and reliability. * Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to align data solutions with business needs and regulatory requirements. * Resolve complex, systemic technical issues impacting multiple data pipelines, domains, or products. **Required Skills** -------------------------------- * Proven experience in data engineering within large-scale environments, with hands-on involvement in data architecture and platforms. * Proficiency in AWS and Databricks (Spark / Delta Lake) applied to building Data Lakes / Lakehouse. * Advanced SQL skills and deep understanding of data modeling and transformation for analytical consumption. * Experience acting as a technical reference or mentor for other data engineers. * Professional-level English for technical communication and collaboration with global teams. **What Sets You Apart** ------------------------------ * Having defined data standards or architectures adopted by more than one team or product. * Experience with data governance, including data quality, lineage, versioning, and auditing. * A track record of technical decisions that impacted cost, scalability, or reliability of the data platform. * Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, credit, risk, compliance, or similar). * Ability to translate complex business problems into simple, scalable, and sustainable data solutions. **Our Key Benefits** * Variable compensation; * Health insurance; * Dental insurance; * Life insurance; * Private pension plan; * Eyewear benefit; * Vaccine reimbursement; * Corporate University; * TotalPass; * Depending on the location, you may have an on-site cafeteria, meal allowance, or food voucher; * Pharmacy allowance; * And more **Our Selection Process** Selection begins with your application.
