Job Summary: Perform nursing procedures and care for patients undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, ensuring care quality and patient safety. Key Highlights: 1. Focus on patient safety and care quality Perform nursing procedures and care for patients of the Institution undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, involving technical-level activities aimed at ensuring the quality of care delivered and patient safety. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Perform nursing procedures and care for critical patients of the Institution undergoing clinical or surgical treatment; * Implement preventive measures for identified risks based on institutional protocols; * Record relevant information regarding patients under your responsibility to ensure safety and continuity of treatment; * Participate in the surgical process, including verifying the surgery schedule, inspecting the operating room, checking surgical kits, receiving and transferring the patient to the operating table, preoperative precautions, setting up the operating table, assisting during surgery itself, transferring the patient to the post-anesthesia recovery room, and preparing the operating room for the next surgery; * Organize anesthesia processes in operating rooms, including arranging materials, anesthetic medications, and required equipment; transferring the patient from the stretcher to the operating table; assisting during anesthesia administration; and participating in anesthesia processes for patients scheduled for cardiac surgery, which requires special care, time, equipment, devices, and medications; * Provide individualized care to critical patients admitted to ICUs or clinical wards; * Collect and/or submit tests requested by physicians; * Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, applying signature and stamp; * Assist in performing medical procedures such as: chest drainage, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, intracath insertion, etc., gathering specific materials for these procedures to stabilize hemodynamic parameters; * Instruct visitors during visiting hours about hand hygiene and its importance in preventing infections among patients under your care; * Monitor material and medication expenditures as well as expiration dates to avoid waste; * Assist nurses and/or physicians in performing invasive procedures and provide necessary materials; * Work in critical areas, providing care to severely ill patients and those using invasive devices; * Check and replenish supplies on ICU bed panels, such as gauze, catheters, suction equipment, sterile gloves, Ambu bags, etc.; * Verify trays prepared for urgent procedures, dating them and restocking missing items; * Inspect the emergency cart and test the defibrillator daily; * Perform other duties as needed or at the discretion of the unit nurse; * Admit patients to the unit together with the nurse, receiving the admission form and medical record, escorting the patient to the bed, identifying the patient and their medication bin; * Participate in shift handover, bed-to-bed, communicating important information to colleagues alongside the entire nursing team; * Participate in planning nursing care; * Actively participate in the risk management program to prevent errors and harm to patients under your care; report any incidents to the responsible nurse, implement interventions to minimize risk, and document them in the prescription; * Perform all nursing actions except those exclusively reserved for nurses, according to the General Nursing Procedures Manual; * Participate in planning patient discharges, jointly with the nurse, providing guidance to patients and their companions regarding care and devices, if necessary. * Verify ideal conditions for patient referral in the preoperative phase of surgeries; promptly respond to verbal requests or call bell notifications from inpatients; * Safely administer medications, preventing harm to patients; knowing High-Alert Medications; * Maintain unit cleanliness and report non-conformities in this process to the hygiene service; * Maintain and preserve unit equipment and materials, reporting needs to the equipment center and arranging removal in case of obsolescence; * Keep patient medical records and documents organized; * Notify the nurse regarding repairs, maintenance, or missing equipment in the unit; * Participate in defining the daily individual material requisition for patients. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Completed technical nursing course; * Active COREN registration; SPDM – Paulista Association for the Development of Medicine assumed management of the Integrated Care Units (UAIs) of the Municipality of Uberlândia on June 1, 2018, pursuing excellence in public health services and commitment to the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS).
