To support this mission, Syngenta’s Seeds Team is seeking an Associate Scientist in Aracati. **Responsibilities:** * Execute and ensure end\-to\-end activities across genetic and experimental seed production processes (pollinations, detasseling, and roguing), as well as experimental field mapping, sampling and collection of plant material (plants, leaves, seeds, and ears), field identifications (plants, plots, and trials), phenotypic evaluations, generation of production data, and shipment of samples to laboratories; * Ensure adherence to procedures, instructions, standards, and critical control points impacting seed quality across the entire production chain; * Select and manage temporary staff, training and developing the necessary skills to perform tasks, assigning and monitoring responsibilities within Field Operations; * Execute activities according to the operational schedule to meet agreed-upon deadlines and quality requirements; * Generate data throughout all processes to monitor key KPIs and ensure their achievement. * Ensure full compliance with exemplary adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and all other company policies; * Demonstrate a strong continuous improvement mindset, implementing Lean culture and Six Sigma tools. **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Biology, or related fields; * Experience in corn seed production activities (pollination, roguing); * Skills in communication, training, and leadership of temporary staff; * Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, among others); * Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite required); * Intermediate English proficiency. **Preferred** * Postgraduate degree (Master’s, PhD, or MBA); * Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma. **Additional Information** **What We Offer** * A culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, promotes professional development, and seeks balance between professional and personal life to support team members.
