Contributes to animal welfare and supports various activities A professional responsible for supporting the veterinarian in clinics and hospitals—handling hygiene, organization, preparation of materials, animal restraint, wound dressings, and basic care—while prioritizing animal welfare without performing diagnoses or prescribing treatments. * Procedure support: Prepares animals, materials, and instruments for consultations, surgeries, and imaging or laboratory tests. * Animal care: Administers medications (oral or topical), provides feeding, and delivers care to hospitalized animals as well as those in pre- and post-operative stages. * Cleaning, maintenance, and organization: Maintains a clean and organized workplace; sterilizes instruments; packages surgical materials; disinfects areas accessible to animals; monitors inventory levels and requests replenishment from the stock clerk when necessary. * Administrative tasks: May assist with registration forms, document organization, and processing patient records and overdue payments during night shifts when the receptionist is unavailable. * Other duties: Assists in sample collection for laboratory tests; supports the veterinarian during consultations, vaccinations, and imaging exams; may participate in teaching, research, and extension activities; accompanies company staff responsible for collecting infectious waste, animal carcasses, and general waste. * And other duties as assigned by management.
