To continue our mission of **Moving the World Toward Inclusion**, we are looking for you — a **Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) Interpreter!** **Attention** To complete your application, please send the following documents to matheus@pertence.me: * Certificate confirming completion of a Libras course with a minimum duration of 360 hours; * A 2- to 5-minute video demonstrating Portuguese-to-Libras and Libras-to-Portuguese translation. **What We Seek in You:** * Fluency in Libras and Portuguese; * A degree in another field of study, provided you hold a certificate from extension courses, continuing education programs, or specialization courses totaling at least 360 (three hundred and sixty) hours, and have passed a proficiency exam in Libras–Portuguese translation and interpretation; **OR** a technical high school diploma in Libras Translation and Interpretation; **OR** a bachelor’s degree in Libras Translation and Interpretation–Portuguese Language, in Letters with a concentration in Libras Translation and Interpretation, or in Letters–Libras; * Respect and empathy toward human diversity; * Strong communication skills; * Willingness to travel and flexibility regarding working hours; **Preferred Qualifications:** * Knowledge of Brazilian legislation on Brazilian Sign Language and the rights of Deaf people (Law No. 10.436/2002 and Decree No. 5.626/2005); * Familiarity with the code of ethics for Libras translators and interpreters; * Understanding of Deaf culture; * Experience with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools; * English fluency for English-to-Libras and Libras-to-English translation. **Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:** * Performing simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between Libras and Portuguese—and vice versa—during meetings, training sessions, events, and individual consultations; * Translating written and audiovisual materials from Portuguese into Libras—and vice versa—to ensure content accessibility; * Adapting interpretation and translation to suit the audience and context, ensuring message clarity and accuracy; * Acting as a cultural mediator between Deaf and hearing individuals to facilitate mutual communication and understanding; * Raising awareness and providing guidance to teams and the general public on the importance of accessibility and inclusion for Deaf individuals; * Organizing and maintaining an updated glossary of technical and specialized terms used by Pertence; * Performing other duties related to the profession. **Work Schedule** 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling via a time-banking system. **We Offer** Salary: BRL 1,600.00 + Health Insurance Plan **Attention** To complete your application, please send the following documents to matheus@pertence.me: * Certificates confirming completion of Libras courses totaling at least 360 hours (Law No. 14.704/2023); * A 2- to 5-minute video demonstrating Portuguese-to-Libras and Libras-to-Portuguese translation.
