Develop and optimize schedule management tools Job Description The professional will be responsible for structuring, maintaining, and controlling project and portfolio schedules, ensuring integration among scope, schedule, cost, and resources, as well as the reliability of managerial information to support decision-making. Key responsibilities include: * Develop, update, and control project schedules based on the approved scope, identifying the critical path, key milestones, and interdependencies among activities. * Prepare, analyze, and update S-curves for schedules and major services, ensuring accurate representation of planned and actual physical progress, as well as consistency with the schedule and managerial reports. * Define, structure, and maintain up-to-date planning foundations, including assumptions, constraints, criteria for measuring physical progress, calendars, construction logic, productivity, and contractual milestones. * Ensure integration among schedule, budget, and resource plan, guaranteeing consistency between planning and control. * Monitor physical and financial progress of projects, identify schedule deviations, and propose corrective and preventive actions. * Perform performance analysis using planning indicators such as SPI (Schedule Performance Index), as well as trend analysis and schedule forecasting. * Prepare managerial and executive progress reports, highlighting deviations, trends, schedule risks, and critical areas of projects. * Monitor and report schedule KPIs, presenting clear and evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders. * Actively participate in planning and monitoring meetings with internal and external teams, promoting alignment among involved departments. * Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, contracts, cost, and risk departments to ensure planning adherence to the overall project schedule. * Implement and disseminate best practices, methodologies, and planning standards aligned with company guidelines. * Develop and implement tools, templates, and processes that optimize schedule management and planning governance. * Monitor integration and consistency across schedules of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring a consolidated portfolio view. * Regularly update schedules to reflect trends, scope changes, replanning, or strategic adjustments. * Provide accurate, reliable, and up-to-date information on project progress to support tactical and strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Proven experience in planning and controlling complex projects within engineering, infrastructure, mining, or heavy industry environments; Advanced proficiency in planning tools—particularly Microsoft Project—applied to construction and schedule control; Experience preparing managerial and executive reports for various stakeholder levels; Experience defining and monitoring planning performance indicators (KPIs); Knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies (PMI, AACE, or similar); Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders; Proactive, organized, results-oriented profile with systemic vision of projects and portfolios; Advanced Excel; Advanced Power BI; Experience in 4D planning is an advantage; Company Description AFRY is a leading European engineering, design, and consulting services company with global reach.
