The sommelier is a professional specialized in wines and other beverages, responsible for guiding customers in selecting the best options, pairing beverages with menu dishes, and ensuring a unique experience in gastronomic establishments. This role requires in-depth knowledge of wine types, producing regions, tasting techniques, and proper service. #### **Main responsibilities:**
* Select, store, and preserve wines and other alcoholic beverages;
* Conduct tastings and sensory evaluations to ensure product quality;
* Advise customers on wine and food pairings from the menu;
* Organize the wine list and suggest new acquisitions;
* Conduct wine and service training for the team;
* Serve customers according to the company's required service standards;
* Follow operational procedures required for the position;
* Stay updated on wine market trends and novelties;
* Assist in planning special events and tastings for customers;
* Manage beverage inventory, monitoring expiration dates and restocking.
#### **Mandatory requirements:**
* In-depth knowledge of wines, sparkling wines, and other beverages;
* Prior experience as a sommelier or in a related field;
* Ability to conduct tastings and sensory evaluations;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
* Quick thinking and initiative;
* Attention to detail and service quality;
* Ability to work collaboratively and under pressure;
* Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
#### **Desirable qualifications (advantageous):**
* Recognized certifications in the field of sommelier;
* Knowledge of other beverages, such as craft beers and spirits;
* Experience in training and team development;
* English or another language for serving international customers;
* Participation in industry events and trade fairs;
* Knowledge of procurement and supplier management;
* Proficiency in inventory and sales management software.
