**Important job information:**
* Work location: UTM \- Catiboaba, Brumado \- Bahia
* Work modality: On-site
* Contract type: Permanent
* Working hours: Administrative shift – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday; Night shift – 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM
**Responsibilities:**
* Perform basic welding services using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process for equipment repair and restoration, employing covered electrodes, following priority and guidance from the immediate supervisor to maximize desired outcomes and meet departmental needs and demands.
* Inspect parts to be welded, verifying specifications, positioning, and other details according to internal procedures and current safety regulations.
* Select appropriate welding consumables based on internal procedures and current safety regulations to ensure welding quality and safety.
* Prepare parts for welding by cleaning and applying specific products to minimize weld spatter, slag, and porosity, in accordance with internal procedures and current safety regulations, ensuring welding process quality.
* Check and adjust the welding machine settings—such as amperage and voltage—according to electrode diameter and plate thickness, following internal procedures and current safety regulations, to execute work per equipment technical specifications and guarantee welding quality and safety.
* Finish the welded area by removing slag and spatter using grinders, wire brushes, and other appropriate tools to meet quality requirements, following internal procedures and current safety regulations.
* Repair production area equipment to meet operational demands, following internal procedures and current safety regulations.
* Support mechanical technicians in preventive or corrective maintenance activities.
* Assist in 6S activities.
* Procure materials required for maintenance.
**Required knowledge and skills:**
* Completed high school education
* Welder apprenticeship training
