Description
Responsible for performing nursing care procedures, guided by the institution's mission, vision, and values, across various clinical departments, carrying out technical-level activities aimed at ensuring service quality and guaranteeing patient safety at all levels of clinical complexity.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Comply with all legislation and regulations governing professional services;
* Perform patient admission: introduce oneself and provide basic information regarding procedures to be performed and nursing activities, clarifying possible questions jointly with nursing supervision and the physician;
* Provide prompt, efficient, safe, and courteous patient care;
* Maintain confidentiality of institutional and patient information;
* Perform auxiliary-level nursing procedures and care for critical patients undergoing clinical or surgical treatment;
* Confirm surgical procedures as required by the department;
* Organize medical record documents as needed by the department for billing submission;
* Implement preventive measures for identified risks based on institutional protocols;
* Record relevant notes for patients under one's responsibility, ensuring treatment safety and continuity;
* Prevent occupational accidents by mandatorily using personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the institution;
* Execute all Work Instructions and Systemic Procedures related to one's position and function;
* Comply with internal reassignment requests according to the Employment Contract;
* Perform duties within one's scope of competence in the assigned department;
* Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, applying signature and official stamp;
* Participate in nursing care planning;
* Actively participate in the risk management program, preventing errors and harm to patients; report any such occurrence to the responsible nurse;
* In case of health-related incidents, complete the incident notification form;
* Practice biosafety and safety: systematically prevent and control physical harm that may occur to patients during healthcare delivery;
* In case of interdepartmental patient transfers, follow agreements established in the Client-Supplier Interaction process;
* When moving patients for examinations, follow the institutional Patient Safety Directive routine;
* Participate in and support the Hospital Accreditation process;
* Participate in patient discharge planning, providing guidance on care and devices, as needed, jointly with the nurse and for patients and their companions;
* Respond promptly to verbal requests or call bell signals from inpatients;
* Administer medications safely, preventing patient harm; know high-alert medications;
* Ensure unit cleanliness and department organization; report nonconformities in this process to the hygiene service;
* Ensure proper handling of equipment;
* Keep patient medical records and documents orderly;
* Notify the nurse regarding equipment repairs, maintenance needs, or missing equipment in the unit;
* Monitor material and medication expenditures and expiration dates to prevent waste;
* Assist nurses and/or physicians in performing invasive procedures and supply necessary materials;
* Comply with the institution's Solid Waste Management Plan (PGRSS);
* Provide assistance to the Central Material and Sterilization Department, Operating Room, Hemodynamics (in areas exempt from ionizing radiation, if the staff member does not possess a dosimeter), and Day Hospital, as required and after training;
* Ensure effective operating room turnover and procedural quality in surgeries;
* Comply with the Safe Surgery Protocol;
* Ensure proper care of materials and equipment;
* Provide post-anesthesia recovery room care, including nursing documentation, administration of nursing-prescribed care, and medication administration per medical prescription. Assess pain every 30 minutes and, if necessary, contact the anesthesiologist;
* Provide the surgeon with cushions and support materials for pressure injury prevention, per the ELPO scale assessment performed by the nurse;
* Perform other related duties as requested.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Currently enrolled in a Technical Nursing course or completion of a Nursing Assistant course;
* Active professional registration with COREN-MG.
