Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is seeking motivated individuals to help develop a world-class logistics process that delivers goods on time and at optimal cost. Our team’s objective is to excel in managing transportation execution across our logistics operations network, with a specific focus on carrier and process safety, quality, and performance.
This role requires an ambitious individual. You will serve a critical function within our transportation operations, continuously improving service levels while upholding safety standards across our facilities. This enables us to consistently fulfill the promises made to our valued customers.
A transportation operations specialist facilitates information flow among various stakeholders (carriers, hubs, warehouses) and resolves any potential issues impacting customer experience and business continuity. Additionally, you will manage external operations involving Sort Center/Carrier relationships, ensuring vehicles depart the Sort Center (SC) to deliver customer orders as promised. You will also monitor fleet arrivals and address any issues arising during the full middle-mile transportation cycle between Amazon operations.
As a transportation specialist, you will be challenged to solve problems promptly by researching and consulting internal tools and making real-time decisions. You must understand requirements and analyze data, identify trends, and drive customer experience improvements without compromising timeliness. Basic logistics knowledge, clear written and verbal communication skills, are also required. You should be able to conceptualize process improvements and diligently drive them to completion.

This position operates on a 3x2 shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Key job responsibilities
Ongoing interaction with multiple external customers (carriers, suppliers, etc.) and internal customers (WHS, Planning, Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, etc.).
Ability to extract data from various databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and/or other data management systems to generate reports and analyses as needed.
Understand and develop team performance metrics, contributing to maintaining and driving results.
Must quickly grasp the business impact of trends and make data-informed decisions.
Must systematically escalate issues or data discrepancies to relevant owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions to ensure delivery.
Work within tight time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying performed activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to craft narratives describing weekly findings and goal variances, and present them in a review forum.
Support vehicle arrival monitoring, correct vehicle allocation at the required loading time, at the correct docks, adhering to all Amazon safety standards.
Respond to vehicle scheduling activities.
Prioritize and assign vehicles to docks.
A day in the life
The Ops Lead is the primary transportation contact within a distribution center / sort center. They serve as the guardian of safety and quality for all inbound and outbound movements within Amazon facilities. They ensure routine execution and excellence in metric outcomes. They analyze even minor deviations to prevent quality and safety issues. They escalate potential service risks to leadership and ensure smooth, bottleneck-free vehicle entry and exit flows.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

* 1+ years of customer-facing environment, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing experience
* Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
* Experience with Excel
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Bachelor's degree, intermediate English proficiency, experience with quality analysis tools (5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Ishikawa, etc.)
