The role of Independent Commercial Sales Representative in the cosmetics segment exists to expand and consolidate the brand’s presence in the professional beauty market through direct visits to beauty salons and hairdressers.
Given the consultative and relationship-driven nature of this market—where practical demonstrations, personalized service, and close engagement with beauty professionals are essential to building trust and repeat business—the door-to-door representative plays a pivotal role. Acting as a bridge between the company and industry professionals, they introduce products, provide usage guidance, and encourage continued adoption of the product line.
Their work directly contributes to increased sales, strengthened brand visibility at points of consumption, customer retention, and the collection of strategic feedback that informs both the commercial and product development teams.
* **Active client prospecting:**
Identify and approach new beauty salons, barbershops, and other relevant establishments within the assigned territory;
Plan weekly routes and visits to ensure efficient coverage of the area.
* **Door-to-door sales visits:**
Conduct regular in-person visits for product presentation and demonstration;
Distribute catalogs, samples, and promotional materials, supporting campaigns and new product launches.
* **Customer service and relationship management:**
Build close relationships with hairdressers, barbers, and salon managers;
Understand each client’s specific needs and offer appropriate solutions based on the product portfolio.
* **Sales negotiation and closing:**
Present commercial proposals clearly and concisely;
Negotiate order volumes, pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms—with emphasis on conversion and retention;
Accurately place orders and forward them to the responsible team.
* **After-sales support and basic technical assistance:**
Monitor product usage and acceptance post-sale;
Address simple technical inquiries, and when necessary, refer customers to specialized technical support.
* **Scheduling and coordination of technical activities:**
Schedule, organize, and follow up on technical visits, trainings, workshops, and demonstrations in collaboration with the technical team;
Ensure all events occur according to schedule and with required resources.
* **Responsibility for visual merchandising:**
Maintain product presentation in salons according to brand standards;
Organize display units, promotional materials, and ensure proper product restocking;
Suggest point-of-sale improvements aimed at enhancing appeal and driving sales.
* **Performance tracking and reporting:**
Record visits, sales, negotiations, and client portfolio progress in a system or spreadsheet;
Track monthly targets, performance indicators, and portfolio development.
* **Participation in trainings and campaigns:**
Attend trainings on products, sales techniques, and beauty market trends;
Support execution of promotional campaigns and product launches defined by the company.
