Responsibilities and Duties * Procure materials, services, and/or custom-ordered items. * Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timelines for requested products with suppliers. * Analyze requisitions and issue purchase orders. * Conduct and maintain quotations. * Update procurement controls. * Monitor delivery of purchased materials and renegotiate quantities and/or delivery timelines when necessary. * Update supplier registration and monitor supplier performance. * Assess supplier reliability as well as advantages offered regarding product quality, pricing, and delivery timelines. * Monitor and track price trends practiced by suppliers. * Negotiate returns, reprocessing, repairs, and/or replacement of purchased materials. * Guide suppliers on the company’s needs and requirements. * Maintain mutual information sharing with other company departments such as Engineering, Warehousing, Finance, and/or other relevant areas. * Understand and apply tax legislation. Stay informed about commercial publications, manufacturer advertisements, and other information related to product variety, quality, and pricing, as well as remain updated on market conditions and economic developments. * Control, monitor, and execute procurement and purchasing activities for direct and indirect materials and services according to pre-established standards and norms. Identify in the market suppliers compatible with requirements concerning specifications, quality, competitiveness, delivery timelines, and other criteria.
